Every karate style and association grades a little differently — the number of kyu grades, the order of the belt colours, where the stripes go. FightKit doesn’t force a system on you. Set up your grades the way your dojo uses them, from your first kyu grade through to dan grades, with two-tone belts and stripes wherever you need them.
If you teach more than one style, or grade children differently from adults, set up a separate grading system for each.
Grading day is a lot to organise: who’s ready, who’s taking part, what each student needs to show, and what you tell them afterwards.
FightKit lets you set the time and number of classes each grade takes, and shows every student’s progress towards their next one — so you can see who’s ready before you plan the grading. On the day, bring students together in a grading session, assess them against the syllabus for their next grade, and send each one their grading notes afterwards.
Set out the kihon, kata and kumite for every grade in one place. Students and instructors can see exactly what’s expected at each stage, and it’s the same syllabus you assess against at the grading.
Children’s classes are the heart of many dojos. Run a separate grading system for children, organise your timetable into groups by age and level, and mark attendance in seconds — every class counts towards their next grade.
Most new students start with a trial class. FightKit takes them from enquiry to paying member:
