Creating a rank system
Set up belts or grades to track student progression.
A rank system is a collection of ranks — for example "Karate" with White Belt, Yellow Belt, Orange Belt, and so on. Go to Learning → Ranks to get started.
Create from a template
If you're using a common martial art, click Create from template to choose a pre-built rank system. FightKit will create the rank system and all its ranks in one go.
Add a custom rank system
Click Add custom rank and fill in:
- Rank name — e.g. "White Belt" or "Level 1"
- Rank system — select an existing system or create a new one inline
Promotion requirements (optional)
Set the minimum time and attendance before a student can be promoted to this rank:
- Time since last rank — minimum number of days
- Attendance since last rank — minimum number of sessions
Use zero if a criterion doesn't apply. These requirements are informational only — FightKit will show progress against them, but they won't prevent you from promoting a student manually.
Badge colours (optional)
Customise the student badge colours to match your belts or grading scheme — set a primary colour, secondary colour, stripe colour, and number of stripes. A preview is shown as you edit.
Ordering ranks
Ranks should be ordered from lowest to highest. On the Ranks page you can drag and drop ranks within each system to set the correct order.
